Paul Belanger Book Evidence Based Wealth
I am a fan of Paul Belanger (BelangP youtube channel). Just got his book and so far so good. Still gettting through the basic economics and monetary policy stuff in the first few chapters but do not want to skip over it. Its a good refresher.

It's a good one. I've returned to it several times, which is more than most investing books I read.

I wish I had striven harder for the 100-ounce goal he mentioned in a youtube video.

Agree, it was an interesting read.
My opinion fwiw,
1. If you are going to live off dividends and pass your portfolio down to your heirs, its a good approach
2. If you have no heirs and plan to spend down your portfolio, then the Permanent Portfolio is a good approach

In other words, selecting solid mature companies and only spending the dividends shifts the problem of how much you can spend from you to the executives that are hired to run the businesses.

Re: Paul Belanger Book Evidence Based Wealth
I started with a dividend approach before Bogleheads. It just seemed like a ‘can’t lose’ approach and it probably is. However, I’ve pared those holdings down over the years to buy index funds, which did way better. So dizzy Hank may have a point.
I still appreciate the yield on what’s left. Now that I’m ready for the market to crash (again), those simple dividend aristocrats look attractive again.
