Strategic / Rare Metals
What does everyone think about hoarding rare/strategic metals? With China reducing exports by 60% and prices averaging a 16.5% return since 2009, it seems a nice complement to gold.

Re: Strategic / Rare Metals
You mean like rhodium? I'd love to have a safety razor coated with the stuff, but I don't think I would hoard it unless it became something commonly bought and sold like gold. And even then...I'll probably just admire the stuff from afar.
I remember in 2010 or 2011 they were touting a rare earth minerals -- not necessarily metals -- stock because of the fear that China was hoarding the stuff. I didn't buy, but I watched closely as it tanked. I wonder how it's doing now. Don't remember the ticker.

This could be an interesting VP play.

Concur on VP possibility. I'm pretty sure that HB would agree with me that nothing else will do for the gold portion of the PP.
