Locked out of forum, but not in kindle

I couldn't reset my password today. The email link took me to the reset screen ok, but upon submitting a new password, I always got the message,

Invalid code

Well I tried and failed many times before giving up. But just now, on a lark, tried to sign in via my kindle and got right in, sans login!

I guess I should clear my cache, but that's what led to my failed desktop login in the first place.

I just send it straight to my mom. She's an alumnus and I figure it's like the mafia in that you never really leave. 
(Of course the awful truth is that they punched a big hole in her badge and she's been out of the loop for decades).
