Is the J&J vaccine of the old fashioned variety? A lot of people say it will be a game changer. Why? Because it's a single dose? But it's less effective. Should I prefer it to the mRNA ones?
edit to add: Just found this article answering some of the questions.

Re: Johnson&Johnson vaccine
This is not the real deal ...it is actually more effective in preventing serious covid requiring hospitalization and death than the others ..it was also trial tested already in Africa on the variant as part of its testing
Again ,misinformation by the media
I suggest you watch this, zdogg is my top source for the facts

Re: Johnson&Johnson vaccine
I was really interested in the J&J vaccine because it's the only one that uses a technology (adenovirus carrier) that was previously used for a fully approved vaccine (rabies). Plus the fact that only one shot is required is kinda nice.
Until I read the New England Journal article reporting its test results, that is. It has just as many serious side effects as the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines....AND, it's been tested in only 405 study participants. (!!!!) The Pfizer vaccine was at least trialed in something like 13000 people for the 2 months of their phase 3 trial.
Sorry but that just isn't reasonable. I hope the FDA tells them where to go. Like, run a real honest to god phase 3 trial and then come talk to us.

Re: Johnson&Johnson vaccine
Don’t confuse total number of people that are trial tested with the amount of covid cases tested on ..it is two different things .
Pfizer had about 160 cases of covid it was tested on . Primary efficacy analysis demonstrates BNT162b2 to be 95% effective against COVID-19 beginning 28 days after the first dose;170 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were evaluated, with 162 observed in the placebo group versus 8 in the vaccine group
J&J. ——The results are based on an analysis of more than 44,000 participants in eight countries, with 468 total cases of Covid-19 split between those receiving the vaccine or placebo. The results have not been published in a peer-reviewed journal, but the company said it plans to do so "in the coming weeks."
J&J actually had more testing
