Leave aside the ETF/stock vs. physical holdings discussion -- it's well covered. Assuming we are only interested in paper holdings, which do you use or recommend?
If you have a mix, vote multiple times for the ones you like.
Poll: Which gold ETF?

Re: Poll: Which gold ETF?
I voted GLD, IAU, and SGOL.
I have heard that PHYS can have some funky tax consequences when other investors sell (verify for yourself I have not dug deep into this) so I have ruled it out.
I also do not like GTU's fluctuating premium/discount. I feel like this is an additional layer of variability with no clear reward for taking on the variability.
Between GLD, IAU, and SGOL I have no clear preference and the principle of diversification would lead me to conclude a blend of the three is best for a paper gold position. Right now my blend is just GLD/IAU though.

everything comes from somewhere and everything goes somewhere
Re: Poll: Which gold ETF?
I like IAU for the price. Just starting out, I can't afford a lot.
What about AGOL?
