Did HB foresee a time he would shift out of PP & go substantially (back) into metals?

I ask the question in light of recalling somewhere on this forum that HB originally developed the PP as a way to hold a large % of metal, presumably while waiting for a hyper-inflationary outcome from irresponsible gov't / central bank actions. That was very costly during the 1980s.

I think you're referring to how HB designed the PP to diversify out of gold since he hard a large positon and large profits to protect.

But taking the reverse, it would undoubtedly be under a Severe Inflation (>10% rate) regime where both stocks and bonds have negative average real returns as during the late 70's.  These regimes have only occurred 7% of the time since 1900.
