If Goldbuggery were a movie...
This would be it. It is the whole gold bug SHTF the dollar is worthless and will be brought down thesis in an hour and fifty-two minutes. The acting is definitely B grade but otherwise it wasn't horrible. Just substitute the Arabs for the Chinese and you will quickly realize that gold bugs have been singing the same song for at least 30 years (the film is from 1981). The irony of Kris Kristofferson and Jane Fonda costarring in a right wing fantasy film about the collapse of paper money is too delicious for the English language.
Trumpism is not a philosophy or a movement. It's a cult.

It's interesting that we can watch movies free on Youtube (instead of paying a monthly fee to Netflix).
There was a Swiss banker who became a famous author in the 1970s and 1980s--the last gold/silver bull market--writing banking-related thrillers. (He also wrote nonfiction finance books.) I think he was in his own bull market for these novels around the same time that "Rollover" came out. Paul Erdman (I think he died in the 2000s) wrote The Silver Bears, The Crash of '79, The Last Days of America, The Billion Dollar Sure Thing, etc.
