Swiss Want Their Gold Back

Post by rocketdog »

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

Interesting news, not at all surprising. And they are almost there with 90,000 of the required 100,000 votes collected.

P.S. In the meantime Goldmart ran out of the random-year American Eagles (only 2013 is available).

It might get like what happens just before the music stops playing in the "musical chairs" game.  At a certain point,  some players start hovering closer, then the music stops and everyone jumps in.  The early hoverers get seats, some of the others get seats, those who were merrily walking around get left out.

So Venezuela and Libya hovered early.  Germany is hovering now, with the possibility of Switzerland joining in.  I wonder if it has ever happened that a government that held lots of countries' gold, did not have a specific government's gold when they asked for it.
