Cash is considered by many to be the least favorite step-child of the HBPP. I have to admit I was in this category when I first started the PP, but a buildup in my I-bond holdings has improved my attitude considerably. I love those I-bonds because they are guaranteed to keep up with inflation, yet do not lose value during times of deflation (unlike the TIPS funds in my old Boglehead portfolio.) And they are tax-deferred for thirty long years.

And here is news from Europe which demonstrates that enthusiasm for cash is growing:

Does anyone want to make a bet when capital controls will be imposed in the US of A? And what event will trigger this disaster?
