If the Permanent Portfolio Were a Game
What would be the term for having all four assets above breakeven? I want something I can yell out, like Yahtzee!
I'm way down in gold, but the value of my treasurys dipped above the breakeven point again as they sometimes do. That means I have three out of four assets in the black. There should be a term for that, too.

The baseball analogy still works. First base, second base, third base...home run!dualstow wrote: What would be the term for having all four assets above breakeven? I want something I can yell out, like Yahtzee!

Human behavior is economic behavior. The particulars may vary, but competition for limited resources remains a constant.

Well, my fault for saying "Like Yahtzee." I grew up with that, Monopoly, Parcheesi and Mille Bornes. Great mispronouncable French terms in that last one. Coup-fourré!Tyler wrote:Ah -- I misinterpreted the original question.dualstow wrote: I think we need a new term, though.

Permanated is hilarious!

I kinda think of it as Zugzwang in chess.. but unlike chess, you don't have to make a move in investing if you don't want to.
